Grainwood's Veteran's Day Celebration

In honor of this year's Veteran's Day, Grainwood will be hosting its own Veteran's Day Program on Tuesday, November 13, at 2:00 PM.  This is the first Veteran's Day program Grainwood has hosted in some time and we would like to formally invite Grainwood family members, especially family and extended family of Grainwood students who are veterans, to attend.  Thank you to our 4th Grade students and teachers who are coordinating this event as a service project for our school.  The program will last approximately 30 minutes and include local community veterans speaking about the meaning behind Veteran's Day.  There will also be an opening and closing flag ceremony from our local Grainwood cub scout den, a question and answer session from the fourth graders to the veterans, and a formal flag-folding demonstration.  All Grainwood students are encouraged to bring a photo of any relative who is a veteran.  Photos will be collected beginning this Wednesday, November 7, by your child's classroom teacher (please appropriately label all photos) and will be displayed in the gym before and after the program.  Framed photos are welcomed too.  All photos will be sent home with students by Monday, November 19.  Please join us on Tuesday, November 13, for this program honoring all veterans!
