Dear Grainwood Families,
We have had 3 weeks of breakfast here at Grainwood and our numbers of participants are slowly growing. Here are a few reminders as other kids begin to inquire or show interest. First of all, breakfast is available to all students. If your child receives free or reduced priced lunch, breakfast is free. For all other students, the cost is $1.40 each morning. Cereal is always an option, along with a rotating (usually warm) choice. When students arrive at school, whether on the bus or at the front door, they are immediately allowed to enter the building and go straight to the cafeteria. Afterwards, they are administered a pass to return to their classroom. The pass simply states, "I was at breakfast." Classroom teachers then know not to mark students absent or late. Please converse with your own child about his/her option for breakfast at Grainwood. We will support whatever plan you choose for your child.
