Changes Coming to Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools for Fall 2010

Bus Schedules will be Posted Online Only
In an effort to save money and be more environmentally friendly, fall bus schedules including pick-up and drop-off times and locations will now be available online. All parents and guardians will be able to access transportation information on Family Access using personal login and password codes. Individual login information will be emailed this summer. Family/Student Access is located on the district website: www.priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us under the “Quick Guide.” Please note that transportation information will no longer be mailed.

Free-and-Reduced-Lunch Applications

Calendar, News & Information Online
-2010/11 Calendar: A district calendar will no longer be mailed but a printable version can be accessed online at www.priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us. Go to www.priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us and go to the “Quick Guide,” then “Parent Info.”

Edgewood School
A new administrative model is being implemented that utilizes the Edgewood School principal as a supervisor of all programming at Edgewood. Programs and services currently housed at Edgewood will remain the same including: Half Day Kindergarten, Early Childhood Family Center and Early Childhood Special Education.

Gifted & High Ability Learners
The district is committed to a comprehensive program that vertically aligns grades 3-12.
-SAGE Academy: SAGE will continue to serve all qualified students in grades 3-5 with the goal to add additional class sections by September. Synergy program options will remain.
- Middle Schools: A new middle school advanced programming model will be implemented to create rigorous course options for students. Synergy will remain at HO & TO.
- PLHS: Advanced placement courses will continue to be offered. Honors courses will continue to be offered to 9th and 10th grade students. Counselors will meet with gifted students to assist with social/emotional needs and career planning. A teacher will also be assigned to assist with learning needs.

South Suburban Conference
Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is now part of the newly formed South Suburban Conference which includes: Apple Valley, Eagan, Eastview and Rosemount from School District 196; Jefferson and Kennedy from Bloomington; Lakeville North and South and Burnsville.
