Join us at the Camp Invention program held at Twin Oaks Middle School on July 12-16 from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM! This program is being hosted by Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools Community Education and will be directed by Melanie Anderson. Each day, children will rotate through five exciting, hands-on modules that require imagination, creative problem-solving, and teamwork to solve real-world challenges.
Children will be challenged to rebuild a virtual world and act as entrepreneurs as they establish a new marketplace in Hatched™, explore alternative energy and build their own motorized creatures in Power’d™, and discover surprising mathematical connections like tessellations and fractals in SMArt: Science, Math & Art™. In I Can Invent III™, younger children will take apart discarded small appliances and create fantasy inventions, while older children will use the pieces and parts to build multi-step Rube Goldberg machines that create a "mini-explosion". Also featured will be the Global Games™ module, where children will explore ancient cultures and sports like lacrosse and soccer from civilizations around the world. Local teachers will facilitate the program modules, and enthusiastic high school and college students will serve as the program counselors. This renowned program features a low staff-to-child ratio, with one staff member for every eight children.
The registration fee includes a Camp Invention T-shirt. Register before March 31st or with a friend to receive $25 off the base price of $225. Availability is limited, so visit www.campinvention.org or call 800.968.4332 to reserve your child’s spot today! For children entering grades 1-6.
