Yesterday, Grainwood students and staff participated in JA
in a Day. JA, or Junior Achievement,
empowers young people to own their economic success. This volunteer-delivered, K-12 program
"fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills,
and uses experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their
potential." Employees from United Health Care and McGladrey joined us most
of the day in classrooms teaching Grainwood students.
Each grade level received approximately five lessons related to economics, communities, business or other social studies standards appropriate to the grade level. Make sure to ask your child about their guest teachers yesterday!
