McDonald's Backpack Saturday Giveaway: August 3.
McDonald’s and its restaurant owner/operators in the Twin Cities Co-Op are helping families get ready for school by giving away a total of 20,000 backpacks at nearly 200 participating restaurants in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.“Backpack Saturday” will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 3. The first 100 school-age children (K-8) who are accompanied by a parent that morning at each participating restaurant will receive a voucher to redeem for a free backpack. No purchase is required. Twin Cities Co-Op President and owner/operator Paul Ostergaard encourages families to arrive early at their local McDonald’s because the free offer is only good while supplies last. When the participating restaurants run out of backpacks (each will have approximately 100), children in line will be given a coupon, redeemable at a later date, for a free McDonald’s meal.
