Love & Logic

The Love & Logic philosophy is dedicated to making parenting and teaching fun and rewarding,
instead of stressful and chaotic. Kindred Hearts will provide practical tools and techniques that
help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children and help them prepare
their kids for the real world. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes. Logic allows
them to live with the consequences of their choices.

Prior Lake-Savage Area ADD/ADHD Connection Group

Would you like to know what’s new and what works when dealing with ADD/ADHD?
Then this education and discussion group is for you. It provides a rare opportunity to meet others
like you, connect with them and share strategies. Experts will present on different topics each
month based on requests from the group. There will be time for questions, discussion and laughter.
We will learn about homework strategies, healthy eating, relationships, sleep, parenting, dealing
with emotions, motivation, medication and much more. Whether you are a parent or spouse or have
ADD/ADHD yourself you will find this group invaluable. Come and learn the latest on what works to
manage the challenges of ADD/ADHD.

Wellness, LearningRx and the Prior Lake Optimist Club.

Grade 1-2-3 Music Concert

Children in grades 1, 2 and 3 will be performing in their music concert on Friday, February 15th at 1:30PM in the Grainwood gym. They are getting very excited to perform for you! A letter explaining parking will be sent home with your students.  Kids are to wear bright, summer clothes (please, NO swimsuits) for the concert.

CARES Students of the Week!

JA in a Day!

Last Friday, Grainwood students and staff participated in JA in a Day.  JA, or Junior Achievement, empowers young people to own their economic success.  This volunteer-delivered, K-12 program "fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and uses experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential."  Educators and students from the Minnesota School of Business in Shakopee and Lakeville joined us most of the day in classrooms teaching Grainwood students.  Each grade level received approximately five lessons related to economics, communities, business or other social studies standards appropriate to the grade level.  This is the second year of our partnership with the Minnesota School of Business.  Make sure to ask your child about their guest teachers last week!
