School Lunch Program

The price for hot lunch this year will be $2.15, including milk. Milk can be purchased separately for $.45 per half pint. Please be reminded that the computerized system operates on individual student accounts, not family accounts. Money for hot lunch can be sent to school with your child on any school day and it can be credited to more than one individual account, if you indicate clearly on the outside envelope.

Information regarding your child's lunch account can be obtained by signing up at http://www.paypams.com/. There is no charge to sign-up and to check account information. You may also make payments to your account by credit or bank card for a small fee.

The price for adult hot lunch is $3.15. However, parents should be aware that, per state law, they cannot use their child's lunch account to charge an adult lunch. Lunch menus are published on our district and school websites, the Prior Lake American and Savage Pacer.

Additional questions concerning the lunch program can be addressed to Lea Breen, our Food Service Manager (226-0308) or Jean Winters, district Director of Food Services (226-0008).

Teacher Assignments/Bus Information

Due to the possibility of adding elementary classrooms in the district at the August 22 school board meeting, teacher assignment letters to families have been delayed and will be mailed on Tuesday, August 23. Thanks for your patience as all schools work diligently to finalize grade level sections and student classroom placement.  Information on the availability of Student Access to check bus route information will be available approximately one week before school starts.  An email from the district will be sent to families with specific details when bus route information is complete.

Extended Day Kindergarten

With Grainwood having two sections of Extended Day Kindergarten again next year, I wanted to pass along that each classroom has availability to include more students.  Class size, at the moment, is between 16 -18 students per room, which can be a huge draw for some families looking at options.  Please pass this information along to your friends and neighbors.  Families looking for kindergarten classrooms with low class size and quality education can find them here at Grainwood!

Box Tops for Education

Like the Coke Rewards opportunities for schools, Box Tops for Education has been a staple around here at GW for many years.  Thunder and Lightning (stuffed animal horses) are awarded each all-school meeting to the class that collects the most box tops per month.  While it's a simple celebration, it works and the students look forward to it each all-school meeting.  The funds raised from this program, approximately $1900 a year, goes directly into the GW student activity fund supporting resources and opportunities for Grainwood Students.  Below is a link to a few new opporuntities for the Box Tops program.  Please take a moment to check it out and possibly win 250,000 bonux Box Tops for Grainwood.
